Why rush theta chi?
For over 150 years, We have enjoyed fellowship and brotherhood together as leaders, scholars, and more. Our fraternity was formed so like-minded collegiate gentlemen could have a place to connect, support each other and have fun.
Make an Impact
Theta Chi can help you gain the skills you need to be a more effective communicator, manager, and leader. Whether you run for office in your own chapter or on campus, you’ll graduate with a better understanding of yourself and the world. Becoming Theta Chi also provides you with the opportunity to not only better yourself, but also better NJIT. Look forward to going to school, have fun, lend a helping hand and be the change.
Earn scholarships for school
Thanks to Theta Chi’s Foundation Chapter, more than $275,000 in scholarship money was awarded to deserving Theta Chi members last year.
Have some fun along the way
What will you talk about when you think back to your college days? With Theta Chi, you’ll form friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
Theta Chi for life
When you join Theta Chi, you’re you’re joining a lifelong network of more than 160,000 brothers, all working together to help you be and do your best.
How do I join?
Joining Theta Chi isn’t as easy as signing up on a piece of paper. Despite recruiting men is one of our active goals, we are very selective in who we let into our fraternity. We want to make sure that we select quality gentlemen who are leaders on campus, share the same principles, values and ideals, and would contribute in making not only the fraternity better, but also our alma mater, Missouri State University. Alma Mater First, Theta Chi for Alma Mater.
what is the new member period like?
All new members will learn about the history, traditions and ideals of Theta Chi in a 6 or 8 week process. This is a time for new members to meet each other, current members, and chapter alumni.
In addition to Fraternity-specific information, the new member education period is designed to encourage an appreciation for campus leadership, academic excellence, moral conduct, and personal growth.
The goal of the New Member Education program is to prepare new members for full membership in Theta Chi by empowering them to take active roles in the fraternity’s affairs. The eight-week program culminates with the initiation ceremony.
For most, it is one of their best semesters in college. As you learn the traditions and ideals of the fraternity, you will get a chance to create stories that will last you a lifetime.
what about hazing?
Theta Chi has a strict policy against hazing during any part of the fraternal experience. Iota Beta Chapter strongly believes in the no-hazing policy. If you are concerned about hazing or have any questions related to hazing, feel free to call our Theta Chi Anti-Hazing Hotline at 1-855-824-4840 or contact the brothers.
It’s true- most, if not every, fraternity assesses some sort of membership dues. Each new member is required to pay a one-time new member and initiation fee to the International Headquarters. We assess additional dues to cover or mitigate the cost of events, lodging and other activities or expenses throughout the year. If you’re more curious, you can talk to our Treasurer who can assist you with a financial payment plan.
what does theta chi do?
Becoming a member of Theta Chi opens the doors to a lifetime of learning and personal growth. Our members have access to a global network of alumni, as well as to leadership opportunities on campus and beyond. Part of Theta Chi’s educational mission is to prepare its members for the demands of life after graduation; we help by providing a variety of leadership and education events throughout the year.
